other. Ken Lawson a.k.a Ken L is an amazing talented actor/hip-hop artist,
which is a natural performer that fits into any situation that comes his way.
Born and raised in West Covina, California, Ken L started his road toward
success as an adolescent. Developing an image for himself by performing in
several talent showcases, which helped further his craft in music, dance and
Ken L established a major door opening toward his career, when a Los
Angeles base local radio station Power 106FM had an open casting call for
local dancers to be in their television commercial. Ken L took up the
opportunity and booked and featured in his first commercial, which would
later landed him principle roles in national commercials and television series.
Ken L performed as a backup dancer for various artists throughout the Los
Angeles area before eventually finding a agent to represent his wonderful
talents. Booking national commercials with McDonald, Spirit and many others
there was no stopping this striving young star. With his hard work and
ambition, he landed guest starring roles on television series such as 20th
Century Fox’s “Chicago Hope”, NBC’s Network “In the House” with LL Cool
J and the Disney’s Networks “Smart Guy”.
The master mind of Ken L did not stop there, his passion for music became a
part of his career goals, that would soon build him a solid foundation in the
entertainment industry. As a certified lyrics/writer, he formed a rap group “Wescove Addictz” formally known as “626” with Michael Mandac a.k.a “8
Dubb”. The group’s independent album “ Life in the Fast Lane” gained major
depth in the local independent record stores.
While striving for the success of a incredible music career, Ken L was
presented with the right set of circumstances to audition for director Ralph
Farquhar’s “The Parker” starring actress/singer Countess Vaughn and
comedian/actress Monique. The sitcom hit record ratings and was a “hit”,
which gained Ken L recognition as becoming one of the entertainment
industry certifiable talents’ . He was able to bring his writing skills to the
forefront, when he wrote for the shows featured R&B
group “FREESTYLE UNITY”, which consisted of the
most talented actress/singer “Countess Vaughn” ,
who played “Kim” and creative actress “Jenna Von
OY”, who played “Stevie”. With 110 episodes and is
currently marketed internationally, “The Parkers” show has received numerous awards and
nominations such as the NAACP’s “Best Cast In A
Comedy Series” and The King DAY Foundation’s “Best Supporting Actor”.
Through all his accomplishment, Ken L has stayed
keeping hope behind his music. With his single “Can’t Hardly Wait” and “Go Girl, hitting 40,000
consistent spin on the internet radio, makes the
creative vibe from Ken L remarkable.
